If you’re a fan of classical and folk Indian music, you must check out Adarsh Iyengar. Adarsh is an independent musician who currently resides in Bentonville, Arkansas, USA and is a Non Resident Indian. He primarily deals in Indian music and has been a key instrument in the ever growing popularity of Indian music in the Western Hemisphere.
Adarsh is currently 33 and works as an IT program manager He did his graduate studies from BITS, Pilani in India.
As a musician, Adarsh has a huge list of achievements, he started developing a taste for music at an extremely young age, and his family also hail from a musical background, his mother is a relative of “Padma Bhushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Sri Doraiswamy Iyengar”.
When he was a kid, he started attending local competitions across in his own city and then across the state of Karnataka. Adarsh has been also part of reality television shows like “Idea star singer – 2”, “Fresh Voice of Karnataka” and Zee kannada’s “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – North America chapter”. He also performed at various live shows in Davengere, Mysore, Shimoga and Bengaluru. After moving to USA, he continued his musical journey and has showcased his talents on estabalisbed stages like the AKKA convention which takes place in Atlantic city.
The musician served as the director for “Richmond Kannada Sangha (RKS)” from 2016 to 2018 and currently is a member of “NWA kannada Sangha” in Bentonville, Arkansas. To push his passion for music further, he is currently training for Carnatic vocals under Vidwan Smt. Anjana Prahallad.
When asked about his future plans, Adarsh shares, “This is just the beginning and there is lot more in the store to come”. His immediate next cover would be a kannada cover of the cult classic Bollywood hit of 2000’s – “Dil ko Tumse Pyaar hua” from the movie ‘Rehna hai tere dil mein (RHTDM)’ for which he has written his own lyrics and plans to present it to the viewers in a different way.
You can find the aforementioned song among many others on his YouTube channel ‘AdarsyIyengarMusical’ where he not only covers popular songs but also adds his own twist to them. He also produces all his songs on his own including the pre productions, the actual shoot and the post productions. It’s shocking to see how he balances all this between his working schedules.
