Author Prabhupad Mishra talks about his favourite chapters from his new book titled “Tapestry of Life Cadences”, which means, the rhythm of life and the emotions it offers to us.
“ My own favourite piece from this book is one titled – “Ruminations on Life.” It is a unique piece which I am confident that no reader must have ever read before. I have left it for the reader to decipher in their own way.
My personal belief is that this is the essence of human life and this is the entire circle of emotions and duties we go through. Another one that I love is “The Sooty Tern and the Dolphin.” It is a metaphorization of a love that goes beyond the boundary of a physical relationship.
An impossible love, yet perfectly attainable. It is a depiction of love that one achieves once we realize supreme consciousness about our own life.
” The author goes on and shares the meaning of the book title and how would he define it “ The rhythm of life in the modern world has become a lot about achieving material needs rather than one’s personal development. Most of us humans are motivated now to earn more, do better at work, get promotions, etc.
However, we rarely devote time to our own personal development vis-à-vis our contribution to society. I have a few friends who take out time from their busy schedules to do their bit for society. That is something that keeps me in awe. This is how humans used to judge themselves as good long back.
If I were to address the world, I would use that as an opportunity to urge humans to do their bit for fellow humans. It is not just by donations, that we can change lives. We need to be involved ourselves in our contribution to society.
The author shares his inspirations “I have been writing short stories and poems since I was a kid. I realised that I could reach out to people in a better way if I got myself published. And, thankfully, it has turned out to be true since I got published!
Writing started as a hobby when I was a child and now it has become close to my heart. My father motivated me to start writing my experiences when I was 7 or 8 years old. So that’s where it all began.”
The author concludes with sharing anecdotes from his journey “Response to my first book has been better than I had expected! It is a very satisfying feeling for a writer when his work touches the heart of a reader. I really love it when my readers reach out to me saying that they loved some particular story or poem.
There are a few readers who come back to me saying how one of my stories matches a part of their life. And I say it will always happen. This is a tapestry of human emotions. So, there are bound to be similarities to someone’s life, albeit coincidentally!
