Entrepreneurship Movie: 7 Movies You Should Watch

It’s always good to get a dose of inspiration or learn new lessons. And, many times, we get that in a good entrepreneurship movie. There are so many encouraging stories that we decided to bring you our “top entrepreneurship movies”.

Every movie has a lesson. Each title can help you gain the insight your business is missing or make you see your company’s direction in a different way. Many of these movies about entrepreneurship are on Netflix. Some of these movies are current, others not so much. But movies about entrepreneurship and innovation never go out of style.

The purpose of writing this article is to raise the titles of business movies that everyone can watch and that can inspire entrepreneurs like you who are reading this text now.

Pop the popcorn and a good movie!

1. Pursuing Happiness

This film slaps people in the face of many who complain about life. It’s a story of resilience and of someone who doesn’t give up until he gets a better future.

The film tells the story of Chris, an unemployed and evicted father who needs to support his 5-year-old son. Living in shelters and even sleeping in public restrooms, this man uses his sales skills to apply for a new job. It will be a stimulus for you in your business.

2. The Wolf of Wall Street

It’s okay that our protagonist is no good guy and his posture is nowhere near an example to be followed.

However, Jordan Belfort’s true-to-life story shows that the weapons of persuasion can take you far. In the case of Belfort, he ended up far away, in prison: for this reason, it is also good to learn from the mistakes of others.

You will notice that this guy has come a long way in being a good salesperson (look carefully at the pen scene) and understand the importance of knowing your product well and the market in which you operate.

You can watch the wolf of wall street at any movie streaming services like Netflix or Prime Video.

3.  A Possible Dream

In addition to being totally emotional, this film, based on real events, will invigorate your spirits. Michael Oher is a young black man who lives on the outskirts. The mother has serious drug problems and the son ends up being left out. He had everything to go astray. However, the sport (and a godmother who was an angel) brought new life to the boy.

The whole trajectory of resilience, persistence and knowing that training is necessary will leave you open-mouthed! So much so that, today, Oher is a player in the NFL, the American football league that is a success in the United States — and that has been conquering the world.

4.  The man who changed the game

Another story based on real facts for you to see how other people dealt with a small budget in business… And that even so they didn’t give up, they didn’t stop believing!

The film tells the journey of Billy Beanee and his work on the Oakland Athletics baseball team. After losing important players on the team, the team needs to restructure with little money.

And they achieve this through statistical analysis: even with reduced costs, how could they improve team performance? Find out by watching the movie. One message is clear in the film: work as a team and analyze your results. It’s a good entrepreneurship class!

5.  Coco, before Chanel

Without a doubt, this film is an example of female entrepreneurship and #girlpower as well. You will get to know the true story of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, the French stylist who revolutionized the fashion world.

Unlike the women of her time, Gabrielle started to dress in men’s clothes, putting aside all those gaudy props that women wore.

This obviously got attention. With orders placed, Coco Chanel began to produce bespoke apparel and hats and thus began to build her fashion empire.

The lesson you will carry in this movie is, once again, to believe and persist! You will also see the importance of being ahead of your time, not wanting to follow standards and especially having the courage to stand up for your product.

6. The Devil Wears Prada

But today we are bringing some models of heavy protagonists, don’t you think? The story of the executioner Miranda Priestly, head of fashion magazine Runaway, is a true glamour!

We do not believe that this leadership style is supported for long by employees, as the character is offensive and makes employees afraid of her.

However, if you analyze the film carefully, you will find that there are a lot of lessons about the entrepreneurial universe to learn.

Focus on results is one of them. At the end of the day in any company, that’s what’s going to matter: delivering the results. Okay, that Miranda is an example of rudeness and aggressiveness that should be avoided, but her team works and delivers results.

You don’t need to be such a leader for your team to work, but you need to be very clear in your mind that delivering results is critical.

The resilience is also evident in the film, as Andy, Miranda’s assistant who is made of cat and shoe in the film, manages to make things that seemed impossible come true. Just want to, just go for it and be proactive!

7. A senior intern

This movie is a career lesson! Ben Whitaker is a 70-year-old retired man who starts a project as an intern at a large company.

The company’s president, Jules Ostin, is an open workaholic who is beginning to change her way of thinking and acting thanks to the lessons that this intern began to teach her.

Listening to the most experienced makes all the difference and I believe that this is what you will take as a lesson when watching this movie. Having a mentor not only in business but also in your life will help you to take off even more in your company.
