As a college student, Cultrera got involved in MMA and other forms of boxing. He took his newfound interest quite seriously and even became a professional fighter with a record of 30 wins and only 2 losses during his stint in international kickboxing/Thai boxing.
However, as we all know, this sport is particularly bloodthirsty and fighters are always at risk of suffering from a massive injury. Thankfully, Cultrera had the presence of mind to leave when he could and instead decided to put his educational qualifications to use. The fact that he had already made some connection in the Pro-MMA world helped him establish himself.
