Almost every musician, singer, and composer has gone through their fair share of struggles. They give you an idea about the hard work that the artists had to put in to reach the stage they are in now. Suso FW is one such artist who started with nothing but his love for music. He is one of the youngest musicians in the industry who already has a super-hit song, Lonesome, doing the rounds on YouTube. Let’s take a closer look at his journey and what his struggles were.
Learning about music
Suso was born in Göteborg on 30th July 1999. His parents worked hard to make ends meet. Suso’s struggles started from a young age when he wanted to listen to different types of music. His family couldn’t afford a music player. And so, Suso would borrow one from his friends to listen to various songs. He says he owes his friends a lot because they allowed him to further his love for music.
In one of his interviews, Suso FW said, “I couldn’t have become a musician without the support of my family and friends. My friends were kind enough to lend me their music players because I loved listening to music. I don’t know if I would have reached this far had I not heard those songs. They inspired me to make music.”
Apart from listening to music, Suso FW also started learning about mixing vocals, producing beats, and even recreating old tunes. He enjoyed the process so much that he had already created various new tunes, which he felt had all the makings of a massive hit in the future. Sadly, that didn’t happen. Although he was a master at mixing vocals and creating melodious tunes, many producers wrote Suso FW off because they didn’t want to take the risk of allowing a young newcomer to share his songs.
“I was shattered. I was young, and all I dreamt of was to make people happy with my music. But I wasn’t getting the opportunity that I deserved. And I think a lot of young musicians go through this period. Even though they have the talent, production companies don’t pay attention to them because they think young artists are too big a risk. I felt that my years of hard work were going in vain. Moreover, I didn’t have a backup plan. Music was all or nothing for me.” Suso FW’s frustration proves how young artists have to face tons of rejections in their early stages of their careers.
The secret to Suso FW’s success
Suso FW’s passion for music and hard work eventually got him a contract with JP Soundz and Lone Wolf. It was one of the happiest moments of his life. The young singer couldn’t hold back his tears when the producers wanted to meet him and discuss his project. He said, “I was almost on the verge of giving up before the contract signing happened. With so many rejections, I started doubting myself whether I was indeed fit for this industry or not. But it seems I did the right job by not quitting.”
His achievement is proof that you can achieve your dreams if you keep working hard. According to Suso FW, “It’s never too late to become a musician.”
