Tanzira Noor is a media personality; worked in TV, Radio, Drama, Film and an enlisted singer in National television from her childhood. She is also a qualified hypnotherapist and an active member of British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH). One of her remarkable works has been being the program presenter of a woman’s entrepreneur show named Paddwarag in Channel One Entertainment Ltd.
That show aired more than 100 episodes and was appreciated by all. Later, she was associated with a Bengali Feature Film called Ostitto which was released in 2016 based on Autism. Tanzira Noor worked as the Production Designer but she is also seen in the movie in a few scenes playing the role of a doctor.
She was admired for her flawless acting in that particular character. Other than all these she performed in many stage shows as singer and poetry recitals and conducted stage shows as presenter.
After being in the media industry for several years in different sectors, she made herself aloof from everything because of some personal needs and presently she is living in Malaysia for the last couple of years.
Talking to Tanzira Noor, she was asked how she is doing these days in Malaysia and her future plans.
To that, she replied:
“Everyone has some purpose in life. At my forty’s now I have realized that my purpose is to serve mankind in any possible way. After the widespread of Covid-19 pandemic, people are having mental health issues. It is a known fact that almost everyone is feeling stressed and experiencing the burnout phenomenon during this pandemic, a disaster.
A growing number of people need help to cope with stress, depression, anxiety, psychological traumas and lockdown fatigue. Mental well-being has become just as important as physical health. Today more practitioner therapists are needed to help people as they adjust to life during and post pandemic.
The desire to help someone is a natural response in times of crisis. But training is also important, especially if you do not have any prior experience. People need help!
Residing away from Bangladesh for the time being, I was thinking to keep myself engaged in such a job where somehow I can be of help to others. Nothing seemed more attractive than learning this special skill of hypnosis to address the stress and anxiety in people and comfort them with the help of hypnotherapy.
Clinical hypnotherapy offers a kind and practical solution. I thought why not explore this opportunity to equip myself with skills that will help myself, my family and the people around me who are suffering or seeking some form of means to help them through difficult situations.”
In the interview, she was further questioned as to why she chose clinical hypnotherapy out of many other techniques to help towards mental health and well-being.
“Voice is one of the vital elements of clinical hypnotherapy; a successful therapy session equally depends on soothing voice and its modulations along with the appropriate treatment protocol. A hypnotherapist’s calm voice has a positive impact on patients.
As I have previously worked as a vocal artist; had experience in doing voiceover on documentaries and advertisements along with singing and presenting shows, that experience helps me in conducting hypnotherapy. I find it quite intriguing how voice can be used as a tool to provide mental relaxation in a patient’s subconscious mind and hence I have started practicing hypnotherapy and providing virtual therapy to people in need during this pandemic.
Though I am away from Bangladesh’s media activity right now, I’m still proud that I’m working towards a better cause in Malaysia and recently I have been contacted by Malaysian NGOS for helping the front liners with Hypnotherapy. I have plans to set up a wellness clinic after returning to Bangladesh.”
Tanzira Noor was also asked if she wants to work again in Bangladesh’s Media Industry after coming back from Malaysia. She said that, once she returns to Bangladesh, she will finish her incomplete music album and also invest more time in acting and film-making.
