Vancouver, Canada-based singer-songwriter Tess Anderson has released the official music video for her new single “Don’t Believe In.” The track’s unique accompanying video takes viewers through a series of heartfelt moments.

Artists keep raising the bar for music videos. Directed by Sabine Kahwaji, this one is setting a distinctive standard. In a day and age of fast paced music videos, “Don’t Believe In” sits you down to enjoy a touching story and song.

Tess Anderson’s’s rounded vocals come in powerfully through the track, The moving music video follows the life of the singer and her son. We encourage viewers to tune into the video more deeply.

According to a press release, the video was shot over the course of a day in May across one location. Each scene is a continuous frame and the director shares they had transformed the interior of an empty shed into a cozy home.

About the song and video Tess commented, “Being an artist and a young mother both have challenges on their own, but when you throw them together i t can often feel like a losing battle. Writing “Don’t Believe in ” with Ryan Guldemond became a huge turning point in my life and career, helping me break though some of that impossibility and prove to myself that it’s okay to believe in something more.

Society seems to condition women to believe that we have to choose between a rewarding career or being a good mother. I believe that both can be possible. By bringing this story to life through song, and music video, I hope to support other women fighting the same battle, as well as inspire anyone who struggles to believe that what they want out of life is, in fact, available to them.

This video is so unique in both the way it is filmed and the heartfelt story it tells, and I think it has the power to touch a lot of people.”

About the video, director Sabine Kahwaji discussed: “When Tess approached me to make a music video for “Don’t Believe In” I knew after our first call that we needed to create something special. I wanted to combine a compelling story with a wholesome approach for viewers.

The technical twist we challenged ourselves with was sticking to one frame throughout the entire video. Ensuring the focus was on Tess the whole time. No cuts, no secondary angles, just the artist and her story. We worked with what we had and were able to execute the concept as we’d envisioned.

I hope this video becomes an ode to all mothers, women, and children, demonstrating how special and deep a loving relationship can be.”

Don’t Believe In paves the way for a lot more to come from Tess Anderson this year.
